Known Issues

You may see an invalid server URL message when logging into a site. This is a debug message from work-in-progress related to the milestones variance report being added to V5.  You can safely ignore this message.  There is an optional updated version that resolves this issue V164.  You can choose to install it or skip it as it only hides the message.  If you have not yet installed 164 on 8/18 then you will automatically be upgraded to 164 and the known issue will not affect you.

New Features

Longest Paths
  1. Improved the sorting of longest paths.
  2. Longest Paths alignment tools have been added.  It is now possible to arrange the tasks by longest late path, by location, and by Forecast Start.

Late Paths
  1. New late path alignment tools have been added to the Late Path analysis.  It is now possible to arrange the tasks by longest late path, by location, and by Forecast Start.


Link Filters: 
  1. It is now possible to isolate links of any type including imported Start to Start and Finish to Finish links using the link filter tools in Manage.
Task Editor
  1. The display of Elevations and Zones with very long names have been improved.
Sandbox View:
  1. Selection tools - sandbox ribbon now includes special selection tools like Manage and Pull including lasso.
  2. Search Tools: the sandbox ribbon now includes that Search button to search by ID, description, duration etc.
  3. Open: You can now open a different sandbox from the Sandbox ribbon.
  4. Autolayout: logic ties in the sandbox will clean up automatically like they do in the Pull View.

Pull View
  1. When adding tasks to a Pull View from Manage View, there is now an option to not move the tasks that are already on the pull board.

  3. Added tasks to a Pull View from the Manage View can be selected from the select arrow in the Pull Ribbon.


Reports
  1. PPC bar chart colors will be darker now.
  2. It is now possible to switch the layout of the report to vertical and horizontal (see new button on the PPC report ribbon).
Workplan Emails
  1. Email notification of tasks on the new workplan now includes a link for vPlanner.Mobile (like it used to have it in V4).
Calculations
  1. Impact on a Milestone from downstream late paths will now be visualized in addition to the late path.  Note that this is a preview feature and will be improved further in the next update.

Bug Fixes:

  1. Excel Import: resolved data validation error that happened in some cases when opening the template file when the character limit of in-list validation rules of 256 was exceeded.  Now vPlanner attributes will be exported into a separate tab and referenced as a range for data validation.
  2. Excel Export on home ribbon now works as expected.
  3. Requests - Copy and Paste of requests by Manage level and User level users now works as expected.
  4. Crash: vPlanner no longer crashes when a user reduces the size of the task to zero (width or height).
  5. Sandbox - issues with first tasks not updating when creating a new sandbox have been resolved.
  6. Pull View - it is now possible to remove a workplan task from a Pull View (it cannot be deleted though).
